Walker Williams note: Over the years when people purchase my decorated cutting boards they ask me why I decorate many of them? They say " I can't use this board to cut on it will ruin the design". I say " not at all, that's why I only decorate one side, the other side is for cutting and one side for displaying". Boards are tough. I personally use a board everyday for cutting I made twenty years ago. It looks better everyday. Heck I even run it through the dishwasher. Just oil it often using food grade oils. My favorite is coconut oil. It soaks in deep and smells so good. In fact I use only food grade oils on all my boards and many other crafts. I have my own blend and use many coats.
