Black Walnut Cutting Board

I make my cutting boards by hand using discarded trees from timbering close to my home in The Blue Ridge Mountains. This cutting board is Black Walnut with Sap wood which the the lighter wood on the edge for contrast. I call this board Mountain Cooking Herb Board. I cut the wood, carve the wood, and burn the designs and then add many coats of Coconut Oil to preserve the wood. I always hope the cutting boards will be used for cutting and serving but I hear most my people purchase them for decorating and gifts.
